Mr. Billie (Bill) Monroe Ponder, age 76, of Cedartown passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017. He was born in Taylorsville, Georgia on Tuesday, January 28, 1941. Mr. Ponder was the son of the late C.J. Ponder and the late Pauline (Cantrell) Ponder. Besides his parents, Mr. Ponder is also preceded in death by two brothers, Rance Ponder and Jerry Ponder.
Survivors include his wife, Essie (Jane) Coalson Ponder of Cedartown; one son and daughter-in-law, Billie (Bill) Webster Ponder II and Tia Edwards of Cedartown; one daughter, Lori Jane (Ponder) Thacker of Rome; two grandchildren, Alexus Ponder of Rome and Billie Allen Wayne Ponder III of Cedartown; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Ray Lewis of Cedartown as well as a number of other relatives.
Mr. Ponder served in the United States Army. Following his service in the military, he made a career working as a Machinist. Mr. Ponder was a loving Christian husband, father, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Graveside Services will be conducted on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3P.M. from Northview Cemetery in Cedartown with Brother Brett House officiating.
