Billy Wayne Fennell

Mr. Billy Wayne Fennell, age 74, of Temple passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born in Dallas, Georgia on Friday, October 11, 1946. Mr. Fennell was the son of the late, Andrew Jackson Fennell and the late, Annie Mae (Stallings) Fennell. Besides his parents, Mr. Fennell is preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Carlyle) Fennell; his son, Billy Lamar Fennell; one daughter, Amanda Fennell; four brothers, Herman Fennell, Waylee Fennell, Olen Fennell, Robert Fennell and one sister, Dorothy Lankford.

Mr. Fennell served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Later in life, he made a career and retired from UPS, having worked over 30 years for the company.  Mr. Fennell was a patriot and was very proud of his service to our Country. He loved the Lord and his family. Mr. Fennell was a wonderful father, grandfather, and husband. He enjoyed trading cars and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Kendall Thomason of Temple; two brothers, Paul Fennell and Donald Fennell both of Temple; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jewel Mashburn, Beatrice and Joe Dumond and Paulette Sorrells all of Temple; two grandchildren and their spouses, Anthony and Sarah Thomason of Temple and Adam and Jessica Thomason of Temple; three great-grandchildren, Alden Thomason, Holden Thomason, Evelyn Thomason and a number of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 4P.M. until 6P.M. (Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, we are now requiring that all visitors wear a mask inside. We will be monitoring how many people are in the funeral home at a time and we kindly ask for your assistance by rotating with others in and out of the building.)

Private Funeral services (Family Only) will be conducted on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2P.M. from the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Lankford and Pastor Herschel Pierce officiating. (Due to COVID 19 concerns, The family has requested that the funeral service be limited to family only.  For those who would like to watch the service, we will be livestreaming the service on our funeral home Facebook page.)

Private Interment with Military Honors will be conducted at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.

Messages of condolence can be made to the family by signing the online guestbook/tribute wall.
