Dawn Lorraine Atkins

Ms. Dawn Lorraine Atkins, age 60, of Temple passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born in Glen Burnie, Maryland on June 27, 1964. Ms. Atkins was the daughter of the late, Donald Clifton Atkins, Sr. and the late, Deanna Lorriane (Ailstock) Atkins.

Ms. Atkins grew up and lived in Virginia Beach for many years. After moving to Georgia, Dawn began her career at Walmart, where she dedicated over 30 years of her life. Dawn had a passion for animals, often dedicating her time to helping many find loving homes. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including watching her favorite TV shows such as Friends, Big Bang Theory, and various crime investigation shows. Dawn was Christian by faith and a member of Generations Church of Carrollton. Ms. Atkins loved her family dearly, most especially her son.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kyle Atkins of Rockmart; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Clifton Atkins, Jr. and Katrina Atkins of Rockmart and Douglas Atkins and Jill Prentice-Atkins of Virginia Beach; her sister, Denise Atkins of Temple and a number of other relatives. Dawn’s family also included her beloved fur babies, Buddy and Lillith, who undoubtedly brought her immense joy and companionship

In accordance with Ms. Atkins’ arrangements, she will be cremated.

The family will be hosting a Memorial Service at Generations Church of Carrollton on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, In Dawn Atkins Memory, be made to a local animal shelter of your choosing.
