Donald Robert Johnson

Mr. Donald Robert Johnson, age 84, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He was born in Olean, New York on Thursday, March 31, 1932. Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Albert Harrison Johnson and the late Aubyne Ruth Kennedy Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Gates) Johnson of Temple; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel and Judith Johnson of Dallas and Mark Johnson of Carrollton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra Terrell of Waco and Linda and Jeff Cates of Boise, Idaho; one sister, Ruth Aubyne Birmingham of Amherst, New York; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, Mr. Johnson worked for and retired from Lockheed. Mr. Johnson was a member of the District Line United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #145 Douglasville.

Memorial Services will be conducted at District Line United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11A.M. with Reverend Michael Williams and Reverend Tonya Hardeman officiating.

Interment and Military Honors will follow in the District Line United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to District Line United Methodist Church. Please make all checks payable to District Line United Methodist Church. On the memo line of the check, please write either (Benevolent Fund) or (Women’s Shelter).  The District Line United Methodist Church mailing address is 830 Morgan Road Temple, Georgia 30179.
