Mrs. Elizabeth Joyce (Bryant) Childers, affectionately known as “Momo” to her grandchildren, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born in Rockmart on March 13, 1947. Mrs. Childers was the daughter of the late, JD Bryant and the late, Jewell (Kelley) Cannon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childers is preceded in death by her husband, Rollie Vaughn Childers.
For over 15 years, Mrs. Childers served as a Grocery Store Clerk at Super Foods and NT’s Super Market in Austell. She found joy in puzzles and reading, particularly indulging in crime mystery novels that captivated her imagination. However, her greatest love was for her family. Mrs. Childers cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments.
Her legacy lives on through her family, which includes her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Johnny Beckwith of Douglasville and Kay and John Joyner of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her sister, Odessa Waits of Rockmart; her grandchildren, Jordan Monroe and his wife, Tara of Acworth, Eric Monroe of Mableton, Kristina Kent and her husband, Mikey of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Kaylee Joyner of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; and her great-granddaughter Kendall Kent. Mrs. Childers is also survived by her close friend, Janis Lemley, and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with Mrs. Childers’ arrangements, she will be cremated.
The family plans to hold a graveside service in Rockmart Memorial Gardens at a later date.
