Mrs. Iris Juanita (Carr) Rooks, age 86, of Franklin passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. She was born in Sylvester, Georgia on Wednesday, November 6, 1929. Mrs. Rooks was the daughter of the late Coney Lovejoy Carr and the late Ruby Lee (Dorminey) Carr. Besides her parents Mrs. Rooks is preceded in death by her husband Charles Marvin Rooks Sr.; three brothers, Joe Carr, James Carr, and Edward Carr; and one sister, Ailene Carr.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Jr. and Gwen Rooks of Omega, Georgia and Michael Rooks and Cathye Seymour of Forsyth, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and D.A. (Wink) Winkler of Franklin, Georgia and Shirley and Wendell Craven of Franklin, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with the family’s wishes Mrs. Rooks will be cremated. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1P.M. from the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Georgia.
