Janice Darlene Truett

1952 — March 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Janice "MawMaw" Truett, who left us on March 12, 2025. She was born in Talladega, Alabama on December 5, 1952. Mrs. Truett was the daughter of the late, Lonnie Wade and the late, Margie (Pierce) Wade. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Truett is preceded in death by her brothers, Punk Wade and Jeff Wade; and by her sisters, Nettie Leanrduzi and Lois Everett.

Janice, a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and the matriarch of our whole family, she was the heart of our home and the glue that held us all together. She was a woman of unparalleled strength, wisdom, and compassion. Her heart of gold touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She lived a life of service, always putting others before herself and offering help to anyone in need. Whether it was lending a listening ear, giving sage advice, or offering a helping hand, she always knew how to brighten the darkest of days with her kindness and generosity.

As a mother, she was a constant source of support and guidance. As a grandmother, her love was boundless, and her presence was a treasure that will be deeply missed by all of her grandchildren. As a wife, she showed unwavering loyalty and devotion. And as a sister, her bond was one of love and camaraderie that will be cherished forever. Her strength was unparalleled. She was the strongest woman we have ever known, facing every challenge with grace and resilience. No matter the storm, she stood firm and never wavered, leading by example for all of us to follow.

MawMaw leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience that will continue to inspire us all. We find comfort in knowing that her love will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us through life just as she always did.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rex Truett of Bremen; three sons and one daughter-in-law. Tony Truett of Bremen, Claude (Butch) and Brandi Truett of Bremen, and David Truett of Bremen; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Verner of Bremen, Cindy and Greg Allen of Carrollton, and Rebekah and Jay Truett of Carrollton; her grandchildren, Kristen Moisan and her husband Chris, Haley Truett and her fiancé Seth Kiker, Brooke Verner, Raylan Verner, Alye Lynes, Kaytlyn Verner, Ariana Womack and her husband Christopher; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Shirey, Michael Shirey, Trystan Shirey, Salem Womack, and a number of other relatives.
