Mr. Joe Rogers, age 68, of Villa Rica passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was born in Los Angeles, California on October 16, 1956. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late, Billy Thomas Rogers, Sr. and the late, Lonnie Steed. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by one brother, Billy Thomas, Jr.
Over his lifetime Joe had established himself as a master carpenter, though his primary source of income was that of a tile setter, where his skills were put on display throughout the southeastern portions of the United States and as far as the state of Michigan and Indiana. Joe was meticulous at perfection and wasn't satisfied until everything he set his hand to do was right. For the moment at least, his work has ended, and there will be no more conversations, no more hugs, and no more "I love yous" but the day will come when the hands of Joe, will be put to use again, at working to build a better a world of peace and prosperity.
"Ah hell" said the Joker, "looks like ya can't outrun the Reaper after all"!To that the Reaper replied, "Fear not, my dear friend, rest in peace, for the Logas has prevailed over the land of the living and the kingdoms of men."To that the Logas replied, saying, "I am the resurrection and the light of men. For I have conquered death, therefore a time of refreshing shall soon be established over the earth, and you shall live again"!In those days and at that time, when the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying which is written: "Death has been swallowed up in victory!Oh death, where is your sting? Oh grave, where is your victory? For the sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law!But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory over death, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior."Rest in peace my brother, until we meet again.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Jeanette Rogers of Wedowee, Alabama, and Johnny and Rosie Morgon of Mobile, Alabama; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ginger and Bruce Doty of Brighton, Michigan, and Lynn Chavies (Rick) of Tennessee. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with Mr. Rogers’ arrangements, he will be cremated.
