Mr. Joseph Paul Darvill, age 78, of Roopville passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born in Sanford, Maine on July 20, 1945. Mr. Darvill was the son of the late, Reginald Darvill and the late, Carra (Johnson) Darvill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Darvill is preceded in death by one brother, Larry Darvill.
Mr. Darvill served in the United States Navy on the USS Shark (SSN-591) Submarine during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the Navy, Mr. Darvill enlisted in Army National Guard of Georgia, where he would retire as Sergeant First Class after 20 years of honorable service. Mr. Darvill enjoyed working outside on his Ford Tractor, cutting grass, and especially going on fishing trips in Florida with his brothers. He was also a Master Gardener and owned and operated a landscaping company for a number of years. Mr. Darvill continued his legacy of serving others, by driving a school bus for the Carroll County School System and working for Lowes. Mr. Darvill loved his family dearly and he will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Yvonne “Bonnie” Darvill of Roopville; his children and their spouses, Mark and Noel Darvill, Julie and Patrick Reinhardt, Kelly and Anthony Hughes, Paul Chambers, and Rex Chambers; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Linda Darvill; sister-in-law, Pat Darvill; his grandchildren, Grayson Darvill, Davis Darvill, Adam Reinhardt, John Reinhardt, Savannah Chambers, Brandon Chambers, Brittany Hall, Alaura Dollar, Sloan Burrell, and Esa Vonnie Hughes. Mr. Darvill is also survived by his two great-grandchildren, a number of other relatives, and his many friends.
In accordance with Mr. Darvill’s arrangements, he will be cremated.
