Mrs. Kathie Lenora Cohran , age 60, of Dallas passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was born on Sunday, August 22, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Dean Cohran and the late Louise Wisner Cohran. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter Melinda May Burnley and one sister, Sandra McElwaney.
Survivors include her three sons and one daughter-in-law, Sammy and Rita Burnley of Rockmart, Charles Shead of New Georgia, and Billy Shead of New Georgia; Five daughters and three sons-in-law, Lou Anne Kathie Prichard and Shawn Norton of Joliet, Illinois, Shelia and Joey Gamel of Dallas, Sherry Elaine Burnley of Douglasville, Christal Shead and Douglas Boatwright of New Georgia, and Terri Kay Burnley of Dallas; One brother, Harlan Cohran of Bremen; Four sisters, Marie McElwaney of Draketown, Jo Anne White of Bremen, Ellen McElwaney of Buchanan, and Charlotte Cohran of Draketown; Twenty two grandchildren; One great-grandchild and one on the way; and a number of other relatives.
The family will receive friends at Hutcheson Funeral Home in Temple on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5P.M.-9P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2P.M. from Welcome Baptist Church in Bremen with Reverend Rick Cantrell officiating. Music will be rendered by Mrs. Audrey Smith. Mrs. Cohran will lie in state from 1P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Cory Burnley, Wayne Burnley, Harlan Cohran, Isac McCormick, Jacob Prichard, Douglas Boatwright, and Steven Hooper.
