Mr. Larry Dean Wimbish, age 70, of Temple passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. Mr. Wimbish was born in Atlanta on Wednesday, December 6, 1944. He was the son of the late Charles Augustus Wimbish and the late Mary Sue (McCoy) Wimbish. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Charles Ronald Wimbish and nephew Christopher Wimbish.
Survivors include his wife Linda Waldrip Wimbish of Temple; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Karen Colley of Cleveland, Tennessee and J.R. and Kristie Wimbish of Villa Rica; two daughters and one son-in-law, Deana Wimbish of Temple and Kim and Chris Hembree of Carrollton; one sister and her significant other, Jan Abston and Gary Bailey of Villa Rica; two grandsons, Seth Colley of Auburn, Alabama and Jacob Wimbish of Villa Rica; three granddaughters, Shauna Colley of Dallas, Cheyenne Colley of LaGrange, and Olivia Marie Wimbish of Villa Rica; two nephews and their spouses, Eric and Camille Abston of Villa Rica and Brian and Missy Abston of Temple; four great-nephews, Travis Abston and Jason Abston of Villa Rica and Adam Abston and Aaron Abston of Temple; one great-niece, Cassie Abston of Temple and a number of other relatives.
Mr. Wimbish served his Country in the United States Army, worked as an Electrician for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 613, was a member of Villa Rica Masonic Lodge #72 F&AM, Temple Masonic Lodge #322 F&AM, Wool Hat Boys Masonic Lodge #1 F&AM, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans Forrest’s Escort, Camp 1239 in Villa Rica. He was an avid bicyclist, enjoyed going fishing, and being a clown in the Shriner Circus.
The family will receive friends at Croft Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm.
Memorial Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 2pm from the Croft Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ben Stover will officiate the service with Military Honors and Masonic Funeral Rites being conferred.
