Mrs. Lawana Jean (Stewart) Humphrey, age 83, of Villa Rica passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020. She was born on Wednesday, August 5, 1936 in Lineville, Alabama. Mrs. Humphrey was the daughter of the late, Albert Charles Stewart and the late, Effie (Lipham) Stewart. Mrs. Humphrey was also preceded in death by her sister, Laverne Worth and by her brother, Lavoy Stewart.
Known to her family and friends as Jean, she loved being with her family and enjoyed spoiling her Grandchildren in particular. Jean was dedicated to the children of Boy Scout troop 259 and was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts when her children were young. She spent her career as a elementary school teacher and worked hard to make her lessons fun. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband, Johnny, loved fashion, purses, and preparing meals to share with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Mack Humphrey of Villa Rica; one son, John Humphrey, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Pamela Dawson of Dearborn, Michigan, Sharon McPherson of Temple and Christi Humphrey of Temple; three grandchildren, Emily Dawson of Hawaii, Henry Dawson of Dearborn, Michigan, Robert McPherson of Temple and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In keeping with Mrs. Humphrey’s wishes, she will be cremated.
