Mrs. Linda Kay Smith (Momma Bear) Shields, age 67, of Temple passed away Monday, October 12, 2015. Mrs. Shields was born on Friday, March 12, 1948 in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late James Joseph Smith and the late Rosa Mae (Ponder) Smith.
Survivors include her husband Ross Carlton Shields Sr. of Temple; one son, Ross Carlton Shields Jr. of Temple; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rosa Lynn Harris Dooley of Rome and Tanya and Alfred Diedrich of Temple; one brother, Richard Smith of Smyrna; one sister and one brother-in-law, Annette and James Lyle of Villa Rica; five grandchildren, Natasha Nicole Price of Carrollton, Donald Clayton Price of Carrollton, Remington Zachariah Diedrich of Carrollton, Nathaniel Alexander Hicks of Dallas, and Benjamin Dooley of Rome and a number of other relatives.
Mrs. Shields was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and watching her favorite NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. In accordance with Mrs. Shields’ wishes she will be cremated.
Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11am from the Croft Funeral Home Chapel.
