Marty Blair (Ritchie) McGonigal, age 61, of Carrollton passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016. Mrs. McGonigal was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on August 18, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Bobby Ritchie and the late Betty (Beatty) Ritchie. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Faulkner.
Survivors include her son, James Michael Johnson of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Harlan Spray of Carrollton; granddaughter, Dorothy Thorne of Carrollton; nephew, Brandon Brookshire of North Carolina and a number of other relatives.
Mrs. McGonigal spent her career inspiring the lives of the students she taught while at Haralson County High School. She was also a loving mother and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Mrs. McGonigal will be cremated.
