Michael Terry Parris

Mr. Michael Terry Parris , age 53, of Carrollton passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Mr. Parris was born on Tuesday, January 10, 1961 in Atlanta. He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Kenneth Parris; One sister-in-law, Linda Parris; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Pawley.

Survivors include his wife Lisa (Gantt) Parris of Carrollton; His mother Betty Geneva Brownlow Parris; One son, John Parris of El Paso, Texas; Five daughters and their significant others, Rachel Parris of Carrollton, Jessica Parris and Michael McDonald of Villa Rica, Erica and Adam Moore of Lawton, Oklahoma, Andrea and Matthew Pawley of Tallapoosa, and Christy and Earon Timms of Carrollton; Two brothers, Kenneth Parris of Powder Springs and Gary Parris of Carrollton; Three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Elaine and Mike Cline of Villa Rica, Brenda and Mike Borders of Fayetteville, Denise and Mike Bishop of Villa Rica; Nine grandchildren, Taylor Parris of Villa Rica, Ezekiel Springer of Carrollton, Aribella McDonald of Villa Rica, Addison and Natalee Moore of Lawton, Oklahoma, Isaac and Isabella Pawley of Tallapoosa, Joshua and Kaitlyn Timms of Carrollton and a number of other relatives.

Mr. Parris was a loving father and was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. Mr. Parris also enjoyed watching his Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. Besides sports he enjoyed spending time with his family, going hunting, fishing, and camping in the mountains.

Visitation will be held at Hutcheson Funeral Home in Temple on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5pm to 9pm.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 1pm from Utopia Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Brother Matthew Pawley and Brother Dwayne Hewett officiating. Mr. Parris will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Pete Pefenis, Eddie Bailey, Billy Bishop, Michael Bishop, Dale Bailey, and Carl Bailey. Honorary pallbearers include Kenneth Cronan and John Parris.
