Ricky Duane Vance

Mr. Ricky Duane Vance, age 67, of Carrollton passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. He was born in Columbus on December 24, 1957. Ricky was the son of the late, Robert H. Vance and the late, Shirley (Brazil) Vance. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vance is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Teal and by his brother, George Vance.

Mr. Vance was a graduate of Heard County High School. Ricky began his career as a Mechanic with Belyeu Chevrolet in Carrollton, followed by a position with Buster Miles in Heflin. His career later led him to MBCI in Lithia Springs where he worked in Metal Fabrication. Ricky finally transitioned to a role as a Security Officer with Georgia Power, retiring in 2020 after 15 years of service. Ricky was known to many as "a man's man," whose heart was as big as his talents and passions. He enjoyed anything related to cars, including races, car shows and monster truck shows. His children remember fond memories of him teaching them to drive the three speed on the column. Ricky also enjoyed being outdoors, going on vacations, riding airboats in Florida, and going fishing. His greatest love was for his family. Mr. Vance cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Delby (Bailey) Vance of Carrollton; his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Brandise Vance of Temple, Jimmy and Tiffany Vance of Carrollton, and Chris and Katrena Bailey of Carrollton; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy Vance and Brian West of Carrollton; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Lynne Vance of Carrollton and Tony and Melinda Vance of Carrollton; and by his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Mark Rogers of Bowdon. Ricky is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Ricky’s wishes, he will be cremated.

The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
