Roland "Ron" Louis Freier

Mr. Roland “Ron” Louis Freier, age 74, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 19, 1949. Mr. Freier was the son of the late, Henry Carl Freier and the late, Frances Maxine (Beasley) Freier.

Mr. Freier served in the United States Navy and later in the United States National Guard. Following his service in the military, Ron served as a Police Officer for Whitehouse City Police Department in Ohio and later as a Sheriff’s Deputy for the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. Mr. Freier retired from Law Enforcement after thirty years of service. An avid fan of the University of Michigan and Detroit Lions, he was very pleased with the Wolverines recent success (especially against Ohio State), National Championship, and the Lions playoff run. Almost reaching the Super Bowl. He also loved his John Wayne movies.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce Lee (Parsil) Freier of Temple; his sons, Phillip Freier of Colorado, Jeffrey Weinrich of Ohio, and Joel Weinrich of Temple; two daughters and one son-in-law, Maribeth and Tad Tuckerman of Michigan, and Jennifer Weinrich of Ohio; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Berthoud Freier of Colorado and Jerome and Malenie Freier of Colorado; his sister and brother-in-law, Jaquline “Jackie” and Jim Schulte of Ohio; his grandchildren, Trevor Tuckerman, Paige Tuckerman, Sydney Tuckerman, Andrea Weinrich, Ethan Weinrich, Elaina Weinrich, Evan Weinrich, Thomas Weinrich, Anthony Weinrich, and Olivia Hutchings. Mr. Freier is also survived by his great-grandchildren, many nieces, many nephews, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Freier’s arrangements, he will be cremated.

The family plans to hold a Memorial Service in Ohio at a later date.
