Ronald O'dell Hancock

Mr. Ronald O’dell Hancock, age 83, of Temple (formerly of Peachtree City) passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born in LaGrange on January 23, 1942. Mr. Hancock was the son of the late, John Byrd Hancock and the late, Hazel (Aughtman) Hancock. In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his sons, Donald Hancock, Ronald Hancock, and Kevin Hancock; and by two brothers, Jimmie Ashmore and Johnny Hancock.

Mr. Hancock began his career, working as a Truck Driver for many years. Later, he transitioned into his role as a Mechanic toward the end of his career, demonstrating his hands-on approach to life and attention to detail. Ronald was an avid viewer of the Game Show Network and passionately followed NASCAR, with his favorite driver being Chase Elliott. In his earlier years, he shared unforgettable moments with his brother, Jimmie, building and racing cars.

Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Deneese and Rick Ashworth of Temple, and Barbie and Neal Berthelot of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; by one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lou Hancock of Glasgow, Kentucky; and by his grandchildren and their spouses, Cameron Coker, Mary Catherine Kojis, Lauren(Ronnie) McCormick, Adam Thomason, and Hunter(Emma) Thomason. Mr. Hancock is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Hancock’s arrangements, he will be cremated.

The family is planning to host a Memorial Service in May. The service arrangements will be announced once they have been finalized.
