Sybil C (Bates) Harkins

Ms. Sybil C. (Bates) Harkins, age 77, of Villa Rica passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019. She was born in Marietta on Monday, August 20, 1941. Ms. Harkins was the daughter of the late, Clarence Tandy Bates and the late, Rosie (Strickland) Bates. Besides her parents, Ms. Harkins is preceded in death by one son, Timothy Brown; two daughters, Jeannie Brown and Tracy Brown; three brothers, Jim Bates, Lewis Bates and Clarence Bates; three sisters, Betty Tinsley, Mildred Bates and Coreen Bates.

Survivors include one son, Chuck Harkins of Villa Rica; three daughters, Robin Chrisman of Camden, Tennessee, Rita Harkins of Villa Rica, Donna Tinsley of Paulding County; two step-daughters, Tina Wilson and Sabrina Wilson both of Villa Rica; one brother, Johnny Bates; ten grandchildren, Bobbie Leigh McCord, Thomas Barr, Scotty Patane, Levi Barr, Tiffany Barr, Ashley Hembree, CC Harkins, Stephen Harkins, Jessica Edwards and Janet Edwards; Many great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Ms. Harkins’ wishes, she will be cremated.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at Rita Harkins’ residence located at 215 Cedars Glen Circle Villa Rica, GA 30180 on July 24, 2019 from 2P.M. until 7P.M.
