Thomas "Clay" Lockhart, Jr., age 40, of Temple (formerly of Grundy, Virginia) passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 with his family by his side, following an extended illness. He was born in Richlands, Virginia on Sunday, August 3, 1980. Clay is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virlo and Lois Stiltner, his paternal grandparents, Roy and Margaret Lockhart, one aunt, Drucia Stiltner and one uncle, Zach Stiltner.
Clay loved life and marched to the beat of his own drum. He was a very talented artist, an avid Star Wars fan, and talented singer. He was a lover of Legos, eclectic music ranging from Boyz II Men to Gov't Mule, flea marketing, and above all else, spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Angela (Mosley) Lockhart of Temple; sons, Vlad Lockhart and Leo Lockhart both of Temple; his father, Tom Lockhart of Temple; mother and step-father, Cassondra "Sonnie" (Stiltner) and Dave LaCombe of Gray, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Lucas and Kayla Lockhart of Kingsport, Tennessee; aunts and uncles, Garnette and Ricky Owens, Gail Stiltner, Angela Griffith, Jennifer McCoy, Steve and Jackie Lockhart, Mark Lockhart, Warren and Kay Griffith, Barry and Sharon Stiltner, Forest and Holly Stiltner, Richard and Liz Stiltner, Virlo and Sandy Stiltner, Chuck and Lisa Stiltner, ; mother and father-in-law, Lesia and James Powers, special friends, George Hall and Ashley Childress, and a number of nieces, nephews and special cousins.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Mr. Lockhart will be cremated.

The family will receive friends at Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 7P.M. from the Vansant Church of Christ in Vansant, Virginia. A visitation will be held at the Church, prior to the service, from 6P.M. until 7P.M.
