Lorene Eunice (Pope) Cunningham

Ms. Lorene Eunice (Pope) Cunningham, age 77, of Temple passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born in Marietta on January 8, 1947. Ms. Cunningham is preceded in death by her mother, Thena (Buck) Shaw; by two brothers, Curtis Pope and John Pope; and by her sisters, Ann Arnold, Bernice Sumner, Earnestine Houde, and Marie Ethridge.

Ms. Cunningham made her career as a cook, working for a number of school systems and retiring from Higgins General Hospital after many years of service. Lorene enjoyed watching classic TV shows, caring for her daughter’s farm animals, and most especially, spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Kari Ann Cunningham of LaGrange; two daughters and sons-in-law, Saprine and Christopher Armstrong of Temple and Tonya and Christopher Phillips of Villa Rica; her brother, Douglas Pope of Michigan; her grandchildren, Malik Armstrong, Misun Armstrong, Katherine Cunningham, Jack Cunningham, Luke Cunningham, C.J. Phillips and a number of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 5P.M. until 8P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11A.M. from the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Albert Bray officiating.

Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Villa Rica with Chris Armstrong, Chris Phillips, Shannon Agan, Thomas Agan, Jason Thomas, and Eric Posey serving as pallbearers.
