Mr. Robert Kenneth Godsey, age 67, of Mableton passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015. Mr. Godsey was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on Tuesday, July 15, 1947. He was the son of the late Herschel Godsey and the late Thelma Dorothy Godsey.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Marie Patterson of Temple; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Kerry Godsey of Temple; two daughters and one son-in-law, Felicia Tenney of Mableton, Tracy and Mathew Braswell of Douglasville; two brothers, Gary Godsey and Warren Godsey both of Douglasville; one sister Francis Nix of Lithia Springs and a number of other relatives.
Mr. Godsey was a Professional Tile Layer, a member of Hurt Road Baptist Church in Smyrna, and served his Country as a Medic in the United States Navy on the USS Oriskany during the Vietnam War. Among other interests Mr. Godsey enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and taking the time to be with his family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be conducted from the Croft Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2pm. Mr. Godsey will be cremated following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers a love offering can be made to Croft Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
